The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to launch India’s new jersey for the 2026 T20 World Cup in Raipur on Wednesday, December 3, during the second ODI between India and South Africa. The launch will take place at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium.

Key BCCI Officials to Attend the Launch

BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla and Joint Secretary Prabhtej Singh Bhatia will be present at the event, while BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia is also expected to attend. It remains uncertain whether Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, who was recently in Ahmedabad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, will make the trip to Raipur.

India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is currently playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Mumbai, with matches scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday. Meanwhile, vice-captain Shubman Gill is recovering from a neck injury in Bengaluru at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence.

2026 T20 World Cup: India’s Group Stage Fixtures

India’s new jersey will be launched in anticipation of the 2026 T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, which will run from February 7 to March 8, 2026. The tournament will feature 20 teams, including newcomers Italy. Defending champions India will start their campaign on February 7 against the USA at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

India’s Group Stage Matches:

  • February 7: India vs USA, Mumbai (Wankhede Stadium)
  • February 12: India vs Namibia, New Delhi (Arun Jaitley Stadium)
  • February 15: India vs Pakistan, Colombo (R. Premadasa Stadium)
  • February 18: India vs Netherlands, Ahmedabad (Narendra Modi Stadium)

India is placed in Group A and the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage, followed by the semi-finals. The final will be held on March 8 in either Ahmedabad or Colombo, depending on Pakistan’s qualification.

India’s Likely Victory in Raipur

India will aim to seal the series in Raipur on Sunday. The team looks strong after an impressive performance in the first ODI in Ranchi, despite the absence of key players like Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Jasprit Bumrah. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are in excellent form, while the bowling attack, led by Harshit Rana and Kuldeep Yadav, is looking confident.
