The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the updated men’s ODI team rankings on Wednesday, September 3. England slipped to eighth place with 87 rating points after a heavy defeat in the first ODI of their home series against South Africa at Headingley, Leeds. The Harry Brook-led side lost by 7 wickets, raising further concerns about their recent ODI form.

India Remain No. 1

India continue to dominate at the top of the rankings with 124 rating points, having won all eight ODIs played so far this year. Their consistency has kept them well ahead of second-placed New Zealand.

Upcoming Matches

  • India will play their next ODI series against Australia in October 2025. The first ODI is scheduled at Optus Stadium, Perth on October 19, followed by games at Adelaide Oval (October 23) and Sydney Cricket Ground (October 25).
  • England, meanwhile, will continue their ongoing home series against South Africa. The second ODI will be played at Lord’s on Thursday, September 4, with the third set for September 7 at The Rose Bowl, Southampton.
