Virat Kohli’s rare back-to-back ducks have become the talking point in the cricketing world. The Indian star failed to get off the mark for the second consecutive ODI, this time at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday (October 23), during the second match against Australia.
Kohli’s Struggle at Adelaide
Coming in at his familiar No. 3 spot, Kohli faced four balls but failed to score a single run. He was trapped LBW by Xavier Bartlett on the fifth ball of the seventh over.
This was a big shock for Indian fans — it was the first time in his 17-year ODI career that Kohli had recorded two consecutive ducks.
In the first ODI in Perth (October 19), Kohli was dismissed for an eight-ball duck by Mitchell Starc, making this a tough week for the batting legend.
Iceland Cricket’s Cheeky Dig at Saim Ayub
Right after Kohli’s dismissal, Iceland Cricket took to X (formerly Twitter) with a cheeky troll aimed at Saim Ayub, writing:
“Looks like Virat Kohli has been watching the Saim Ayub coaching videos.”
The reference came from Saim Ayub’s own poor run in the Asia Cup 2025, where he scored four ducks in seven matches for the Salman Ali Agha-led side.
