“Mujhe Parwah Nahi”: Sahibzada Farhan Breaks Silence on AK-47 Gesture

Sahibzada Farhan on AK-47 Gesture vs India

Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan found himself at the center of controversy during the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash against India. While his knock of 58 runs from 45 balls helped Pakistan reach a competitive total of 171, it was his celebration after crossing fifty that grabbed headlines.

Instead of a simple gesture, Farhan mimicked firing an AK-47 — a move that stunned fans and invited heavy criticism across social media.

Farhan’s Response: “I Don’t Care”

Ahead of Pakistan’s second Super 4 fixture against Sri Lanka, the 29-year-old addressed the matter in a press conference. Unapologetic in tone, he insisted that it was a spur-of-the-moment act.

“I usually don’t celebrate much after scoring a fifty, but that day I felt like doing it. It came to mind and I did it. I don’t care how people take it. For me, aggressive cricket is important — not just against India, but against every team,” Farhan said.

Focus on Powerplay Strategy

Beyond the controversy, Farhan also shed light on Pakistan’s batting approach. He admitted that poor starts in the powerplay had hurt the team in earlier matches.

“In the last few games, we were losing early wickets. That’s something we had to fix. Against India, we managed a solid start with around 90 runs in 10 overs, which was a big positive. Yes, we collapsed in the middle overs, but we’ll rectify that going forward,” he explained.

Standing Firm Despite Criticism

With criticism continuing online, Farhan made it clear that he will not let outside opinions dictate his approach. His closing words summed up his stance: “Mujhe parwah nahi.”
