Rohit Sharma Named Brand Ambassador for T20 WC 2026

Rohit Sharma has officially been announced as the brand ambassador for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The confirmation came from ICC Chairman Jay Shah during an event held in Mumbai on Tuesday evening.

Shah said,

“I’m pleased to announce 2024 T20 World Cup winner and 2025 Champions Trophy winning captain, Rohit Sharma, as the brand ambassador for the upcoming T20 World Cup.”

Rohit’s Legacy as a Leader

The former India captain has enjoyed a remarkable run in recent years. Under his leadership, India ended their long ICC title drought by winning the 2024 T20 World Cup, showcasing fearless cricket, tactical clarity, and exceptional consistency.

Rohit and his team followed that up with another major achievement by lifting the 2025 Champions Trophy, further strengthening his legacy as one of India’s most influential modern-day leaders.

Rohit Shares His Emotions on the Honor

Reacting to the announcement, Rohit expressed pride and gratitude.

He said,

“It is a great privilege for me and a great honour as well. Hopefully, we can recreate the magic we created last year, even with a new group of players. Winning an ICC trophy is never easy—I’ve experienced that firsthand over the years.”

Reflecting on his journey, he added,

“I’ve completed 18 years in international cricket and I’ve been fortunate to win a few titles recently. But there was also a long phase where we couldn’t win any ICC trophy. We knew how desperately the players, the team, and the management wanted it.”

Rohit mentioned that stepping away from active participation in a World Cup will feel unusual for him:
“Having played all the World Cups and now watching from the other side will be a different feeling.”

India’s 2024 Triumph Marked a New Era

India’s T20 World Cup victory in 2024 became a defining chapter in the country’s cricket history. Rohit’s leadership, supported by Virat Kohli’s composure and a fierce bowling unit led by Jasprit Bumrah, proved vital.

The dramatic final, decided in a tense finish, sparked celebrations across India and brought fans together globally.

This win represented more than just a trophy—it was a story of resilience, redemption, and renewed belief, laying the foundation for a stronger and more united Indian cricket setup.
