Former Australia Under-19 star Harjas Singh produced a jaw-dropping performance in the New South Wales Premier Cricket competition, smashing 314 runs off just 141 balls for Western Suburbs against Sydney at Pratten Park. His extraordinary knock, featuring 35 sixes and 12 fours, shattered multiple club records and left the cricketing world stunned.
A Historic Innings Full of Fireworks
Coming in at No.3 after a solid 70-run opening stand, Singh initially took his time before unleashing an all-out assault on the opposition. He reached his half-century off 33 balls and brought up his century in 74 deliveries. But what followed was pure destruction — his second hundred came in just 29 balls, and he stormed to a triple century in 132 deliveries.
Singh eventually fell in the final over for 314, powering Western Suburbs to a massive 5-483. Of his total runs, a staggering 252 came in boundaries. The innings, though not officially recorded as a List A match, eclipsed N. Jagadeesan’s world-record 277 and now stands as one of the most remarkable knocks in NSW Premier Cricket history.
Only Victor Trumper (335 in 1902-03) and Phil Jaques (321 in 2006-07) have scored higher in the competition’s history.

A Deal With Mom and a Knock to Remember
Singh, who scored 55 in the 2024 U-19 World Cup final against India, revealed a funny pre-match conversation with his mother. “I said to Mum yesterday, ‘If I score a hundred, would you let me drive your car more often?’ She just told me to zip it,” he laughed. “I was just happy getting 100 today, to be honest.”
The 20-year-old said everything seemed to click on the day. “After 100, you start upping the ante, and I just wanted to hit everything for six. It was an unreal feeling for everything to come off the middle.”
Reactions and Aftermath
Wests president Michael Swan called the innings “phenomenal,” adding, “Guys who have watched a lot of sport said they’ve never seen something like it. He’s an absolute ripper of a guy and devoted to his craft.”
Even after such an explosive knock, Singh admitted the physical toll was real. “The bat has a crack in the shoulder now — we’ll put some fibreglass tape on it and hope it holds. I fielded the whole innings, and the boys kindly kept me at third man and long-on because my lower back was a bit cooked.”
